Artisanal gold mining/2

Indonesian Borneo. Alvaro, 18 years old, and Hardi, 21, move away the detritus with the water jet. In the villages of Tumbang Tariak and Tumbang Miwan, many defy the law and health to extract gold is considered an illegal activity. The search for gold continues unarrested notwithstanding the wounds inflicted on nature. There are no more trees left all having been uprooted in a pitiless bid to dig up the earth, left a perennial marshland from the water pumps the miners use to force the detritis to the surface.
